I realize that everyone reacts differently to medication, esp. antidepressants, but since I've been taking Effexor XR my sex life has been the pits. I'm thinking about asking my doc to put me back on Zoloft because I didn't seem to have any problems while I was on it. My question is what antidepressants have you taken that didn't interfere with your sex life...just in case I don't have the same good luck with Zoloft.

sex problems are common and effect everyone differently, if the zoloft helped with your anxiety then go back on it, the 2 meds are different types of antidepressants

All of them affect mine - and by affect I mean nothing.....My poor husband.

I've tried Zoloft, Prozac, and Effexor and all have a similar effect. Before prescribing them to me, my doctor explained that I might experience "delayed ejaculations". It's been great with a partner 'cause sex can last an hour before ejaculation. Alone, however, it gets a little tiring :)

That's my $.02

You know, mine was awful when I first went on the meds, but after a year now, it is much better...my husband has been very patient and understanding and helpful--he does a lot of extra "things" to help move things along...So hang in there--it'll probably get better as time goes along.

I agree with Jitterygal -- if you give it some time and have a partner who is understanding and "helpful" it will come back. I still have times when I cannot orgasm, but mostly I can now. For the first 5 months that I was on Effexor I could not orgasm. It was hell! Good luck!
