Hi,
I fell ill in Sept 2003. First symptom was dizziness when leaning forward, spaced out (episodic would come and go but knew instantly when I was back to normal again. So hard to describe!...), then a few weeks later, tinnitus started (like an alternating two tone high pitched). Then insomnia, IBS, panic, anxiety, depression, ear pressure, sore neck and shoulders.
Now I have a strange new symptom which I woke up to this morning. The only way I can describe it is like a low end rumble, vibration feeling in my head (not sure if it's in my head or more in my ears). It started bad this morning, and has been on and off all day. I am worried.
I've had all tests known to man over the last 2 years. MRI's, Blood tests Thyroid etc.etc.
Only positive tests so far was Caloric test (but this was done with Air and not Water - I am so paranoid about getting anything in my ear after a swimming incident last year. Had water stuck in the affected ear and could hear my footsteps in my ear when I walked! It freaked me out).
I seem to have a lot of ENT symptoms (tinnitus, sore jaw, bruxism, ear pressure constantly) and I just can't work out if this is the main problem, or do I have Fibromyalgia with TMJ involvment (I have pains in my legs/groin at the moment), strange tingling sensations in head, Anxiety, Depression, Carpal Tunnel, Disequilibrium and spaced out feeling. Can't quite concentrate on what I see (I know this sounds strange!) - Supermarkets and crowded places bother me.....and now this strange new symptom.
Could a Vestibular disorder produce symptoms not only in the face/head/ears with balance and hearing etc., but can it also involve the rest of the body?
Could it be Fibro with TMJ?
Can anyone recommend any treatments/diet that works? I've heard that a low salt, high protein diet is good. Avoid things with Sodium or Potassium (or is that just for Meniers Disease?)
I'm just so confused about the whole thing! Two years of 20 Doctors, specialists, various tests, exams etc. and no real dx. I fear that I will get worse!.
Thankyou for any help!
Take care,
Mike.
