For about a year now, I have been having consistent burping throughout each and every day. I have no other symptoms, no stomach pain, vomiting, or nausea. However, the burps are causing me increasing embarassment. They come in "attacks" as I call them of about 10 burps in quick succession, each one starting with a sort of click in my throat and then the belch, then click, belch, etc. Occaisionally, I will get one giant burp instead of many. The inconsistency is troubling. It actually feels like i need to burp to relieve pressure in my stomach. It's not just any normal burp.

People have told me in the past that I eat too fast, but I burp even before I eat anything. I haven't made any changes to my diet that would yield such a result. Others have suggested I have acid reflux. Though I have never received a doctor's opinion on the matter, I have tried home remedies for acid reflux such as a spoonfull of vinegar (yuck).

If it helps, I'm 14-years-old and I was 12 when the burps started. Please somebody help me diagnose this terribly humiliating disorder!

There is a site about Controlling Gas in the Information Archive at the top of this page --- I think it is worth reading!!
