I went to see an od today for an eye exam. I told him that over the past week I noticed one of my pupils was bigger then the other. It is not very much and you can only see if you get close to my face. He checked them out. Said they weren't "sluggish" and the difference looked the same in bright and dim light plus there was no droop in my eyelid. He said that they probably have always been like that. But I think someone would have noticed..Doctor or eye doctor. I don't know should I trust that he would know if something was wrong??

Same happened to me a year ago. I noticed my pupils on kinda bigger than the other and was told by a specialist that it had probably always been that way and that I had just started to notice it. Since then I have been to 3 more docs that have told me the same thing. Its just something that happens. Weird.

Thanks! Did they do any tests on your pupils? I looked online and it said something about doing a cocaine test to make sure there was nothing wrong.

hey i was just looking in the mirror today and saw that my pupils were getting larger and then smaller (in small increments). is that normal? is there a sort of "throbbing" thing that goes on? anyone willing to run to their bathroom mirror real quick and see if yours do that? i just started on an anti-depressant med (lexapro) yesterday and i'm not sure if that's doing it. i've never noticed this throb before and i just want to make sure nothing is seriously wrong.

I know exactly what your talking about. When I look at my pupils they do the same thing. I dont think that is anything just your eyes adjusting to light.

Bobafett.. I've noticed that too! It always kinda grossed me out! LOL! It does it all the time when I look at my eyes really close - thought I was the only one that noticed something like that! :)

The doctor told me that it was fine and that I shouldnt worry about my pupils because I wasnt having any other symptoms of something major. It is called anisocoria. He also told me that 20% of the population have this.
