My 2 1/2 year old daughter came down with the tummy bug on Christmas day. She vomited a few times during the day without any diarrhea. I came down with it on Wednesday night at 10:30 PM. I did not vomit, I had diarrhea for 18 hours straight. The tummy bug is Gastroenteritis which is a virul infection of the lining of the stomach and intestines causing inflamation. Here is my question: Why do people just have vomiting, vomiting with diarreah, or just diarreah when they get Gastroenteritis? I have not vomited in 27 years, but when I do get Gastroenteritis , I just have diarreah.
