It's very often that my father and I get mouth canker and tonsil inflammation and now unfortunately both of us are in great bitterness by them. We've taken a lot of medicine and had some shots. The cause for canker sores is unknown. There may be an inherited predisposition to their development. There may also be an immune system link. Recurrence is common and may continue for years. One of the less common syptoms that may or may not be related is swollen lymph nodes which may explain the sore throat.
