3 years ago I filed papers for a grandchild to get SSI.
I got the notice today that he was fully approved by the judge.
He (the judge) also added the child was (disabled) since birth.
Now does that mean he the child gets pay 3 years back or from date of birth?

If date of birth that is a lot money. but we are thinking that it just means that he will get 3 years worth . But why did the judge make 2 notations on
the child being (disabled) from his birthday in the paper work?

Because this is an SSI or Title 16 claim, the benefits can only go back to the first full month after the application date.

Ok thanks!

I called SS and they told me about the same thing .
When I made the claim I stated that the child was disabled from birth,
The judge agreed that from the birth date to the day of his ruling that the child was disabled, But SS says that the date of disability or the date of fileing which ever is "latest" is the start date of the benefits.

so if the child got disabled after I filed that would be the start heh. :nono:
Man that dont sound right.

But they have the power!
Thanks again :)
