I knew what was happening. It was sleep paralysis.
I had experienced it a few times before, annd always had pressure on my chest, or feeling of deep numbness. I thought that if I didn't get up, I would go into a deep sleep and ultimately die.
This time, I wanted to see if anything would actually happen if I gave in and just lay there. But something weird happened. My whole body was under pressure, as usual, and I was opening and closing my eyes trying to get out of the paralysis, and I saw my pillow beside me and thought it was something else, which scared me. That isn't the weird thing though. I felt a different type of pressure (like some small creature that was on the top of my body) and it was going over my body. First it started around my waist and went up to my neck, then it went to my fingers and I could almost actually feel it going under my fingers, lifting them up as it went along. That scared me more than anything, and I furiously tried waking up. Moving my toes, my eyes, my fingers, anything that would move. And I finally got out of it.
Does anyone have any comprehension to as why that "creature" thing happened. I felt like something was really there, other than me.

Well I do suffer from Sleep paralysis and from what i've read the hallucinations occur because it's like living your dreams .. you are seeing what your mind is dreaming ..
I always hallucinate with the same thing : i "hear" the phone ringing and my mom comes walking fast around my bed telling me to pick up the phone and when i see her face ,she's a monster.
learning how to deal with a sleep paralysis is really challenging but it's a horrible experience :nono:

Wow. That's terrible. I never had that happened.
I always wondered if you really open your eyes when you think you do. I remember the first time I remembered sleep paralysis happening, I was in my living room, sleeping on the couch. My grandparents were at the dining room table playing cards. When it was happening, I actually saw them. My felt my eyes open and my toes wiggle and stuff. I wonder if that really happens or if I just dream it. I even tried screaming or saying something but no words came out. Scary.

My doctor called it 'hysteria' when it happened to me years ago...I was a kid then. It's a form of eplepsy she claimed, a kind of petite mal.
I agree that it's very scary (spooky even ) and the experience is never quite the same each time. I too recall being curious as to what would happen if I, 'don't resist'. I felt this creepy thing crawling through my body from toe to head and thought I would die for sure if it were allowed to crawl out at my head. I recall resisting then.
What I did notice however was that most episodes usually occured in times of extreme MENTAL exhaustion that was perhaps exacerbated by physical exhaustion.
It's now many years later, and except for the unexpected odd occurence, sleep paralysis is now mainly a horrible memory.
I believe as frightful as the experience may be, sleep paralysis is harmless and practically disappears over time....at least that has been my experience.
