For the past five days, I've had a sore throat, which I thought would go away on its own as my husband had just had one. I went to my primary care doctor two days ago who looked in my throat and said I'm okay. The next day, (first day at new job and my birthday) I started to have pressure in my ear and went to the emergency ward (as I was told to do since my doctor had gone home and couldn't help me). Sure enough - horrible ear infections in both ears (the nurse described white 'pustuals') and probably strep throat (I am never able to do the swab test, so we never know for sure). I'm on antibiotics for 5 days - just started them today. Anyone else having similar problems this summer? If so, did antibiotics work for you? I'm not pleased with my primary care because I probably went to work and spread strep all over b/c she said I didn't have it.
