Hi everybody, I posted on this board weeks ago asking about the signs and symptoms of fibro and I was so grateful for the compassionate responses I received. I have finally been to the doc. and he said that I have 13 of 18 trigger points and will have to do more investigation because fibro is a "diagnosis of exclusion". I see him next in two weeks. He is a very compassionate doctor, and I am most grateful for him. I have faith that he will steer me in the right direction. I wanted to say that reading through some of the threads on this board has given me great courage to dive into an unknown ocean, and accept whatever the waves bring to me. I am blessed with six healthy young sons, and expect a foster daughter (YEAH! finally some more estrogen in the house - I am not quite at menopause yet :) ) any day. I can't help but say that what I suffer physically is so far outweighed by the blessings I have been given and it gives me great hope to read the posts of those of you whom have suffered for years and still feel the same way. I especially want to say thank you to bluelakelady, because some of the happiest times in my life have been spent next to a beautiful lake, and everytime I see her name, I immediately drift there...You all are such pillars of strength, I hope that I can emulate your humor & dignity no matter what the future holds....God bless for sharing your stories & strength, Marirose

Hi Marirose, how nice of you to let us know about your Drs visit. Sorry you have fm, but the boards are great, you can read all you want about fm but when you post and get replies it surely makes you feel better to know you are not alone with the symtons. I was dxed 21 years ago and believe me, it does not get better plus I truely believe aging makes it worse.Hope to see you post often.

Hug, Linda

Marirose, thank you for the wonderful and uplifting post. I'm sure with six sons and a daughter you don't have much time, but stay with us and post when you can.

I agree about bluelakes post they seem to make you feel as if you are there.

hi marirose,
welcome to our happy growing family. i am delighted you have a good doctor. it will make your journey to acceptance that much easier.
glad to hear you are getting more chick power in your home. a foster child. there is much healing in the helping of others. it is only thru experience that we come to the place of peace. fms is only one aspect of your journey.
i am glad my name evokes soft memories for you. i am always happy to share my lake with friends. my lake is your lake. hope the winds die down tomorrow so i can kayak and build some big mean muscles. soon you will all have to address me as buff babe, well, maybe buff old broad is more truthful, giggle.
peace,
bluelakelady

HI everybody, thank you for the responses. It's true that you can read all you want about something, but to read how people are dealing with things is much more helpful. I hope you don't mind if I read more than I post, because my time is limited, (I LOVE it bluelakelady - when my new foster daughter arrives, age 16, I will have CHICK POWER in my house! TOO COOL! I love that phrase, CHICK POWER!) but more because my journey is just beginning as far as fm goes, and you all seem to have been on this path longer than me and as my Irish grandda used to say, " You can't hear when you're talking!" I have alot to learn about how to find acceptance and how to live with fm, and I am learning so much from all of you. My mom has fm, and she has led a very difficult life and her spirit is just depleted now for the past several years. It makes me hopeful to read about people who are not depleted by fm, so once again, thank you so much for sharing your stories. Right now, I am going to go to the lake with my boys and float in the canoe....watch the world go by...maybe fish a bit if my right shoulder permits it (see what I mean about acceptance :) ?) Thank you all so much, I hope in some very small way I will be able to share my lake with you all! God bless, Marirose
