and type 1 diabetes??
i am 36 and have had diabetes since i was 11.
been on pump since 1999.
i have had panic disorder for about 8/9 years.
i am on paxil and do very well most of the time.
i have xanex as needed.
of course lows will feel like anxiety/panic....but right
now i am nervous...my bs is 93....i know, i know...beautiful, right?
but it's like i'm crashing coming from such a higher number and i
don't want to eat too many tabs and spike my numbers up.
just have to sit and wait this out...i'm sweaty...yuck!!
can anyone relate?

i am type 2 for about ten years and also suffer from panic and anxiety disorder as well as depression and agoraphobia. are you panicky because of your bg levels? i would think that after 25 years you should be going with the flow by now! my disorders seemed to coincide with my diabetes diagnosis and i wonder if thats what brought them on. i take about 3mgs of ativan daily but have trouble sleeping. i called the clinic where i go and some dr. prescribed seroquel for sleep. when i looked it up it says it can cause diabetes and raise bs levels! i'm afraid to take it. know anyone taking seroquel that is diabetic? i sometimes panic over a high bg reading but i think we diabetics will never come to grips with it. hang in there

I take Xanax for anxiety and it doesn't seem to affect my duabetes at all. I have good control.
The anxiety is from my diabetic eye disease. It is truly frightening. The Xanax helps me calm down and sleep better too. I take a very small dose if needed during the day as it makes me drowsy..

I am type II diabetic also since 1998. I also have panic disorder and have had it for many years. I have been on zoloft for several years. It works for me.
I seem to be able to do more then I used to when I know I am going to do something that would normally set it off.

I can relate been type 1 for 18 years on the same meds for the same reason. My family is consumed with Panic disorder. You are not crazy. I get the same thoughts and start to panic. I really can't stand getting jammed in traffic without a way off the freeway. Its been allot better being on the pump for the last year. I used get crash on nph. With the pump it seems the going low is more gradual. When I start to panic I check the bs and carry some carbs.
Before being on the Pump my fear actually came to reality go stuck on the freeway with no way off(concrete barriers)stopped dead. BS starts going low. I had to ask a guy in the truck next to me for carb. It all worked out!!
