I had a 12 mm stone at the UPJ removed last week (laser litho, etc.). I have a stent as usual - this is not my first stent. I am sooo uncomfortable with the stent. My doctor gave me Detrol but it doesn't do much for the bladder pressure, spasms, etc. Is there anything else I can do to relieve the discomfort? I am seeing my doc on Wednesday and hopefully it will be removed then but until then I am miserable, don't feel well enough to exercise, etc. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

I have also had a stent...twice. It hurt soooo bad. I couldn't do daily activities like go to the grocery store or walk any sort of distance at all. The only relief was sitting on my butt and do nothing. There was a drug the doctor gave me that turned my pee brown...I can't remember the name...
It did give me some relief. The best thing to do is tell your doctor and see if they can give you something for the pain and hope that it is removed soon.
I also had mine in for 8 weeks the first time because I was pregnant and I had it in for 3 weeks the second time. I know what you are going through. I feel your pain.

Peridium (sp?) helped me with my spasms and pain when I had both of my stents in. It turns your pee bright orange and stains. But it works!

I found the best thing for me to do, was putting a heating pad on my back and abdomen. I had a stent in for 5 months, and nothing really helped the pain or spams the way the heating pad did. Good luck, hope this helps.
