hey,i dont know if im getting more agitated from lexapro, but have soooooooooooooooo much anxiety from it,,,its hard to get out of bed cause im trembling with fear and have stomach pain and knots in my stomach, which is all from anxiety, and i have heard a million other people say they get anxiety from lexapro.i just hope that it will go away,i've only been on it 2 1/2 weeks, but this severe anxiety didnt start til about 5 days ago which is odd,i thought it woulda started right at the beginning, but maybe it just took a few days to build up in my system before it showed me side effects.i just hope it goes away for us all

This is my fourth week on lexapro. I haven't told anyone close to me about being on antidepressant, even though my family members have suggested I go on Antidepressants. The thing is I really don't know what to expect from them and I'm affraid that just because I'm on meds that I'm going to be a different person, which I'm realising is not.
So far I've had a lot of side effects, body ache, numb lips, bitter taste in mouth, appetite increase nause, and heart burm, and rash on my stomach that is currently clearing up, none of which I consider dangerous.
In your case I really think that u should talk to u'r doctor, I'm taking the medication because of depression and anxiety, and IT actually makes me feel relaxed and I feel that my thoughts are clearer, whick i like, but in your case I thinks it making u worst. Try another med. Also I'd recommend ttherapy it's going to help u deal with the depression and it's going to help cope with every day life and how tell when yuou are in anxious situations and how to haandle them before thery worsen.

I'm just guessing, but it could be the Klonopin that is helping your anxiety. You should call your doctor and ask about the agitation -- that's not a fun side effect (not that any of them are).

I know the Klonopin helps alot and I have been on it for 10 years. I ahve tried no ADs's and there was no way I could function............Celexa had this same effect on me........Zoloft was great for my mood but made me MORE anxious, I became agoraphobic and I was soooooooooooo dizzy.......... I have no options left. I did talk to my Doc on Wed. She said to try add DROPS of Zoloft liquid with the Lexapro..........so that is where I am. 2 DROPS!! I am very med sensitive so I really hope it has a possitive effect! Does anyone else get agitated from meds or is it just me???

I've never tried Lexapro -- but Effexor made me very cranky.... I am also extremely sensitive to meds and it seems I get all the side effects and then some. I wasn't always this way, I think it was years of medication -- the longer I was on meds and the numerous meds my doctors had me try just made it worse and worse. Every time I complained about a side effect, he would give me another medication -- pretty soon I was taking so many I had to write detailed notes to remember how many of what to take when.
If your doctor offers to give you something else on top of the Lexapro and Klonopin to counteract the aggitation, I would think twice... I think less is better when it comes to meds.

Hi All
I have been on Lexapro for right at three months now, and I guess I was extremely lucky in the fact that I had very mild side affects when I started on it. I had anxiety and depression, and started out with the full 10 mg, so if I had started on just 5mg and worked my way up, I would probably had less side affects. Within just a few days, my anxiety and depression was pretty much gone, I felt sooooo much better! I had nausea at night, but I was taking it at night. When I switched to taking it in the morning with a light breakfast, I was ok. I had slight trembling in the very beginning, and my mind was racing 100 miles an hour. I felt like I had taken a hit of speed, I was WIRED, but I kind of liked that feeling :bouncing: I kind of miss that. I was very restless and couldn't seem to sit still, I had to be up doing something all the time. All the side affects slowly went away - so most likely all of yours will to. Just talk to your doctor, and give your body the time to adjust to the Lexapro. I have a freind on another Lexapro thread that was very med sensitive and had to start out very very slowly, building up to the 10 mg after probably a month or so, but she is doing fine on it now, but had lots of side affects in the beginning.
