View Full Version : Exploding eyeball?

I have allergies..I live in Ohio, so I think that is a given. Woke up yesterday, and my right eye felt like it was going to explode. Watered all day, it was sensitive to light...drove me nuts. I've been on Flonase for 4 weeks, and take Allegra.

Anyone ever experience this? Developed such a nasty headache (later in the day) that I had to take take Benadryl Allergy/Sinus. I do have known sinus issues, so perhaps it was a combination of both...?

Tranzwarp,

You mentioned in earlier posts that you might eventually get a turbinate reduction. Before my surgery, my swollen turbinate put a lot of pressure on my eye. The ENT said it was very common to feel the pressure on your eye from a turbinate on the same side.

Wht in the heck is a turbinate reduction? Thanks, because my eyes are killing me too and I have painful sinuses. Have never been to an ENT. What do they do with the turbinate?

The turbinates are on the side of your nose. They swell in reaction to allergies, and sometimes remain permenantly swollen as a result of un controlled allergies. Sometimes they are swollen because they are filled with air. Depending on your needs they either just remove the air or cut some of the turbinate away.
