 I have recently been diagnosed with FM.....i have read what i can on the subject but dont know if some of the symptoms i have are to do with FM.
Sometimes especially when im cold the flesh on my legs hurts when i walk...i am a very slim person but have some fat obviously...and on my legs i notice it the bruised feeling when i walk or move not joint pain but flash pain! also any pressure...say when in bed and i lay in fetus position and knees together they HURT.
Also if i lean on arms or legs i get red paches, also on my shoulders that are very hot and sore. Anybody have the same...im not very good at describing pain: sorry!
thanks for reading

I would say that was the FM ... I sometimes get pains like that too, but not EXACTLY like that.
Always remember, FM manifests itself differently in all of us. That means that just because it does something specific to you, doesn't mean the rest of us will have the same pain. That doesn't mean it ISN'T the FM.... however, it could be, *shrugs* just make sure you have had everything checked out...

Hi brightonbelle,
I get those patches too. Everytime i put one leg on top of the other, or when i lean and out my elbows on my legs, i get red patches on my skin. I think i have FMS/MPS too. More like MPS because the muscle fibers and trigger nodules can be felt under the skin. I get bruised so easily. I dont get weird thoughts of having blood cancer though;)
I havent found an answer yet, if i do, i will be sure to let you know. Still seein g doctors and working to get some answers....
Good luck,
LibertyGirl.

yes BB, well described. I get a lot of "flesh" pain which I describe myself as "skin" pain. And it's extremely annoying. Inside of knees (pads) cannot touch each other, outside of hips cannot touch anything, sometimes when things get real bad, which is quite often, I cannot rub cream again my hands and feet cause the "flesh/skin" hurts so much. If my shoulder joint bumps into a door or something, then waw I can really feel it too. I think you described your pain pretty well. Sometimes (and also quite often), I cannot even stand my clothes, not even my underwear, especially if what I'm wearing is not a soft kind of fabric. I wonder if anybody else feels like that.

Hi BB,
I think i have symptoms similar to yours. Sometimes I have strange sensations in my thigh which I wont exactly call burning but rather skin or flash sensitivity. I often get such sensations in my left thigh and sometime also below the knee cap. And when you press those points (as you do feel like pressing) it hurts. The strange thing is that my left leg is otherwise okay. It is my right thigh that has more problem. Although these `strange sensations' are felt less often in my right thigh, my right thigh muscle (quadricep) is perpetually tight. I do some quadriceps stretches and massage but not much improvement in last 6 months. I have naive theory. Since my right thigh is always tight, I limp while walking. Thus my left leg exerts 200 % more than its usual load. Those strange sensations in left leg (they are worse when I go to bed and sleep in fetal position) are perhaps only telling the tale of day's exertion. I notice those sensations are also felt during day time if I do not get a good sleep the previous night (which is usually the case with me). Anybody noticed lack of sleep and sensations connection. Also my tightness is worse the next day of a sleepless night.
I have noticed that my symptoms worsen with certain allergic foods like wheat, egg, soy, milk products. Also look into possible yeast connection. I am trying an elimination diet and will let you all know if I feel some improvement.
In the meantime I would lke to hear from those who have noticed improvement with elimination of possibly allergic foods. We can learn a lot from each-other's experiments.
Wish you all heal fast

Hi again.
Yes...As I mentioned before, i get those patches. And yes, my abdominal area is very very sensitive to touch. My husband has to be very careful near me. It hurts a lot and i can feel it in the flesh. Additionally, when i sit, the grooves formed on the abs make it worse. I am also sensitive to clothes. There are days when my pants hurt me. My symptoms are worst in the trunk region, mainly abdomen. My thighs (on the outside) hurt only when pressed. But yes, whatever it is is in the flesh!!! Damn! It hurts!!! I so understand the agony...
Wish ya all the best... take care,
LibertyGirl

greetings,
i have quit wearing a bra and panties. i wear long loose flowing dresses with only me underneath. it helps. there are times when just the touch of my light cotton dresses can cause pain. most of my discomfort is in my trunk area too.
also the flesh on my scalp hurts to have hair growing out of it. i shave my head. that helps too.
winter is hard due to the cold and all the layers of clothing required to stay warm. now that summer is just around the corner i am in bits of cloth and doing better.
sometimes less is more.
i have a swimsuit that is one size too big. comfy and loose. i wear it for the garden.
you will get used to this new body. you will find your comfort zone.
fms is bizarre to say the least. i find laughter helps. mostly i laugh at myself and my silly body.
peace,
bluelakelady

Suppose we could all become nudists..lol..(yeah u lot first!) :jester: :bouncing: Im so glad i found this site.....i dont talk to my family about it much....they have all been supportive...but to be quite honest i bore myself talking about it. Winter is worst....i just dont know wot to do with my body...just wish it would go away...i get this inner feeling of total unwellness that runs through my body...i wont let it stop me from doing things...just do them for shorter periods of time. swimming sometimes helps. does anyone find that they shiver quite alot when attacks are bad....?
take care all of you...one day we all will feel better im sure. :bouncing:
