Hi everybody,
I'm getting a little nervous that my son may be doing more then smoking pot again, or never really stopped but just got better at hiding it, but I'm not sure if I'm just being really paranoid. When we thought he was a few months back and he actually admitted experimenting with things and said he stopped he looked like hell and now he looks better and there are no real positive signs that are telling me otherwise, but I just have this gut instinct that I'm missing something. Do you think I'm just being paranoid??? I know he's smoking pot because I can tell when he's high and he's always eating, which is a good sign that he's probably not addicted to opiates, right?????? or am I wrong?????
I think the thing that is making me the most nervous is that he's hanging around with this kid who I have heard about for the past 3 years being a drug addict. This kid actually dates my step niece and I know through my brother in-law and others that he has been in and out of rehab and my son insists that he is clean now since this last time, but I am hearing otherwise and I guess that is what is making me so paranoid.
My son is still going to his counselor so I think I will give him a call and just let him know how I'm feeling so he can help me determine the best way to deal with this and maybe make it a point to feel him out at his next session. I'm hoping I'm wrong and just being a paranoid mother.
I think if his girlfriend was following through on what she is supposed to be doing I might feel a little better also. She was court ordered after her last trip to rehab to attend an intensive outpatient program Monday through Friday and go back to court in December, and over a month later she still hasn't signed herself up. That doesn't surprise me because she never does anything she's supposed to do, but I'm just wondering if it's because she isn't clean and knows they will be drug testing her. Atleast if she was going I wouldn't be so worried about what they are doing together.
They do spend a lot of time at our house though, so do you think they would be spending so much time hanging out watching t.v. eating everything in sight and being home if they were doing heroine or any other kind of opiates on a daily basis, or would they be out and about more where we wouldn't see them???
