The other nite i got up about 4am and had to go pee, after i did so i stood up and couldn't see anything for a good 30 or 40 seconds, maybe more. i don't really recall being dizzy or anything just couldn't see. i had not eaten a lot that day especially at dinner at 7pm, that was the last time i had eaten, then i had two gin and tonics before bedtime. Does anyone know anything about this? Please let me know, it has not happend again....Thank you

Doesn't sound like anything serious. After laying down for long period, then standing up suddenly probably just a little drop in blood pressure. Normal happening. Low blood sugar from not eating can cause this too.

Hi Mia, with the drop in blood pressure it would also cause the cold sweat. Sounds like you were on the verge of fainting. You've never fainted before? If it happens again, just get you head lower than your body...like lay down or sit & put your head down between your knees. And don't forget to eat, cause fainting can happen when your blood sugar gets too low. Important to eat protein to keep levels normal.

About a year ago my friend called me all upset about that exact thing happening to her at night when she got up to pee! I didn't know what it was, but nothing is wrong with her and it never happened again...
