I think the balanced diets are the most beneficial, one should never be extreme when it comes to diets, as each food has it's very own nutritional value. However i have actually been amazed by the Mediterranean food, nutritional value, excellent taste and healthy out come. Brilliant olive oil, vegetables well balanced out with red meat, Superb fish plates barbequed, and just all the goodies on the table.

I agree that it does seem to be very well balanced. The main thing that I've noticed about is the "lack" of a lot meat. From my understanding red meat is only eaten a few times per month, while poultry and fish are a few times per week. They don't seem to eat meat dailly like people in the USA do.
