Found a rather good story over at Slate at how drug companies get the data on who is prescibing what. (Of course, in many cases they can just by it from the pharmacy as well.) Not to mention the computers several of them are giving away (easier for doc, but the pharm company gets his full prescribing info at the same time in the deal).
