My doc has given me Flonase to see if it helps with this mucus build up that i get...i have been using it for about 3 weeks and not sure if it really doing anything but making my nose bleed.
I have actually stopped taking it now because of the bleeding...
Is it a common side effect?

YES! I had horrible nose bleeds with Flonase as well. Ask your doc to switch you to Nasonex. I don't get nose bleeds with it. I think it has less side effects over all.
