For the past 2-˝ months, I’ve been experiencing abdominal discomfort, off and on diarrhea and almost constant stomach gurgling. My platelet levels began at 918, went down to 801, then up again to 864, down to 600 and up again to 630. My eosinophil levels have also been elevated.

I was admitted to the hospital for testing. I had a colonoscopy, an upper gi x-ray (where you drink barium), and had scans of my abdomen and pelvis taken. Oh, 2 stool samples were completed too. All tests came back normal; the only thing my doctor noticed was my spleen was slightly enlarged. I am still waiting on pending lab work and colon biopsy’s.

I still have no answers from my doctors. Anyone have similar symptoms, or has gone through the same ordeal? Your suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Had my blood work completed last week, platelets were 765 and was scheduled for a bone marrow biopsy.

Today before the bone marrow biopsy, blood work was done again, platelets went up to 914 and was put on Anagrelide. The bone marrow biopsy is a pretty uncomfortable procedure. If anyone is getting this done, ask for a sedative (I wish I did)! Well, results should be back in week. Wish me luck!
