Hey,
I'm 26 years old. Almost three years ago I had mono-like symptoms: I was in bed for 5-8 weeks because I was too weak to stand. My back hurt, but I can't remember whether I had a sore throat or not.... I was tested twice for mono, but both times it was negative.
Eventually I recovered, but the doctors had no explanation as to what happened. Is it possible to have mono but continually test negative? If it wasn't mono, what was it? Please don't speculate too far as to what I had... I tend to worry, which is why I'm posting! Hah, it's a viscious cycle huh? :)

Justin,
What kind of mono test did u have? It is important because if you had a spot test, those arent always accurate. Next time ask your doc for an EBV profile. This test is the most accurate way to see if you have it or not. I just recovered from acute mono and that is how my doc found mine. Glad you are feeling better, I am just starting to, after 2 months..

I don't really remember. I know they drew blood, if that helps any.
