I would love to have a tummy tuck. When carrying my children, they were much too big for me and have left my tummy with loose skin and stretch marks. My ex husband left me because he felt I was unattractive because of this. I have recently remarried and have actually pulled off hiding this from my new husband out of fear of losing him for the same reason. I know this is not a good idea but this situation has caused me to be so depressed. I cry every day. I cannot afford the surgery and everytime I save for it, I end up having to use the money for the kids, house or some emergency instead and the surgery goes on the back burner. Is there anyone who knows of any situations like mine that the insurance actually pays for this procedure. Thanks for any help you may have.

I think it is very difficult to get insurance to pay for a surgery like this, unfortunately. It's nice that you have a husband who is not with you because of your stomach not being perfect after bearing him your lovely children. Maybe you could talk this over with your husband, and you could work out some way to handle this financially over time. He probably does not care about what you are self conscious about, and loves you for yourself, but we women have these feelings sometimes. Another possibility is to talk with a trusted family doc and see if he could recommend anything to help to get insurance to pay for part of the procedure. It's a long shot, but you never know. Regards.

Joy,
Have you had procedures done? If so how have you (if I may ask) paid for it? Thanks for the answer and advice.

Hi,
I had a facelift a few years ago, and saved some money for it, and borrowed a little for the balance from my son. I pay him back a little each month. To me it was worth it. I never had a tummy tuck or anything like that. It's probably not as bad as you feel it is. It seems like you have a loving husband now which is most important and I'm sure he will support you whatever you decide [or not decide]. Best wishes.
