Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone here has ever experienced a sensation where a small breath was suddenly expelled from you. Almost as if you were hit from behind on the back? I suffer from cat dander and dust mite allergies which mostly seems to affect my upper respiratory system. I do suffer from a chronic cough which is believed to be a result of my post nasal drip. More recently however, I have been having this unusual breathless sensation and I can't seem to figure it out. I have had both heart and lung tests which have all been pretty normal for the most part. Has anyone here ever experienced this as a result of their allergies? Thanks in advance for your help!

I get the same feeling. I have dust mite and cat allergies as well. It's like I can't breath properly. I know the tissue in my nose is swollen due to the allergy so I assume that this may be triggering this feeling. I like you have had heart and lung tests just to be sure. I had lung x-ray, ekg, echo and even stress echo but no problems found.

I used to get shortness of breath. I don't have asthma. Mine was caused by sinus drainage and went away after sinus surgery.
