May your love grow exponentially as the years go by. Congrats to your new life together -- everything changes once you get married, so it really is a new life even more wonderful than the last five years. Your bond is undoubtedly rock solid now that you know each other so well.

Hey friends,

It's currently 08:02 (England time)

We are all getting ready for the big day and I've never been more nervous in my life,

I guess that's because of the importance of the day for me and for us.

I will check in and let you know how it all went.

Thanks again for the good wishes and kind words.

A PUBLIC NOTE TO THE MODERATOR(S) -

I know that this thread is WAY OFF the topic of "Mental Health", but,
I would like to openly thank you for allowing this thread.

There are MANY people here that have followed (and I hope, will continue to follow)
my transformation from 'Bi-Polar' to 'therapy' and hopefully beyond...

With that in mind, I believe I serve as an example to ALL sufferers with
"...Mental Health Problems..." - whatever the 'label' might be -
in that there is sometimes a way forward to a better quality of life.

It is called "...HOPE..."

I will add a final posting to conclude this thread, then allow it to
gracefully slide down the pages into history.

Many thanks, Hedge~

Hey guys...(collectively speaking of course...)

I'll give the brief run down of the Wedding Weekend...

Saturday 10:30.
Perfect sunny day.
Civil Ceremony - I'm divorced and we are not religious.
Both my(*) kids were there.
Carol's best friend was there as a witness.
My two friends were stuck in Spain (where they live) and couldn't get over here.
So we 'borrowed' a member of staff from the Registry Office.

None of Carol's family were invited and none of mine were invited.

We had previously chosen our own very personal Wedding Vows
as well as the music for during and after the ceremony.
It was very relaxed and very intimate.

Afterwards, we all went to a quiet, country restaurant, for a 'full works' meal.
The food was nothing short of EXCELLENT.
We spent several hours there having a wonderful time.

Late afternoon, we returned home and I carried Carol 'over the threshold'
in true romantic tradition.

The evening was quite and romantic... (end of Saturdays details...)

On Sunday, (today)
Hot and sunny.
We drove to a local 'theme park' and spent the day there.
The weather was a little to hot for Carol and the kids.
We ALL had a fantastic time, again.
We came home and had a very relaxing evening.

We ALL agree, the entire weeekend went totally as we had planned,
we ALL thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Carol and I love being married to each other.
It has actually brought us even closer together,
something neither of us thought we could do.
We have had a PERFECT start to our married life.

As a Wedding Present, I bought Carol a scale model of her favorite 'Land-Rover'
which I will buy her a brand new one of.....one day.....
as a thank you for being in my life...

In return, (by mutual consent) we agreed that Carol's Wedding Present to me is...
PAYING FOR MY TREATMENT...!!!
Something we both see as quite a joke...

MANY thanks for the support and the comments.

Carol has kept me alive.
The kids have stopped me from giving up.
This site (and some good friends) have kept me stable.

The result ~ I'm on the road to recovery ... :D

Hedge~

* I only use this term when a specific reference is needed.
G & C are my two kids, from a previous marriage.
I spent many years as a single parent.
No contact with the kids mother.
Then my Carol came along.
After a while, the kids decided they wanted to call her
"Mummy". Since then, we (the four of us) have been a perfect little family.

Hedge, That is the most beautiful story I have heard in a long time (maybe ever). I wish you and Carol nothing but the best for forever. Thank you so much for sharing so much with all of us. Love and Hugs!
