Congratulations Margarita!!!

Cut back on carbs, sweets, alcohol, and get plenty of exercise, and I'll bet you can even get that Triglyceride number lower.

Margeret,

That is indeed good to hear! My wife takes lipitor and hers went from 260 total down to 178. But she is now seeing my numbers and wanting to go on Vytorin.
Mine started out at 275 Total and is now 119!
Vytorin works 2 ways. It is both a mixture of Zocor and Zetia and blocks the Cholesterol in the small intestine before it ever even has a chance to get in the blood.

Doesn't it feel good though to have your numbers down? :) :)

Good work Chic one,
Now lets get the triglycerides down some more...watch the sugars and/or the booze if you need to...two big offenders,

I've taken my cholesterol from 265 to 149 with 10 mg. Lipitor.

Lenin,

That is really good numbers on 10Mg. of Lipitor. I actuallly split my 10/20Mg. Vytorin in half and I seem to be getting nearly the same numbers on my Cardiocheck but I need to let a little more time pass as well. I need more test strips from Jhewitt. Costs about $10.00 to run the entire HDL, Try's, and total cholesterol tests at once.

Yeah stumper, I am thrilled with my response mostly because chopping my Lipitor 20's in half is financially rewarding, and less of a statin is ALWAYS a better idea if it gives good enough numbers.

That 3 tests for $10 sounds like the best way to do it...how many tests have you run since you got the rig?

Lenin,

I had a total of 6 tests for each seperate thing. They come in boxes of 6 or 25. Of course 25 is alot more expensive.

So , I have 1 complete set left. I used it 5 times already. I used it once for my wife and her numbers were amazingly close to the prior lab results. I showed her total cholesterol at 191 and 2 months prior she had 178 at the docs office (lab). When I took hers that morning she just has an egg-Mcmuffin before I took it. So that certainly made some difference.

But it will cost only about $3.25 or so for just the total cholesterol test. $3.25 for the HDL, and $3.25 for the trigliceride. So the total of about $10.00 to run all 3. Then you calculate LDL. Am I making sense?

Anyway, I was basically playing with it and all of my tests were in the 108 to 115 total cholesterol. THEN I decided to half my pill and checked it 4 days later and total went up but only slightly to 119. I have more strips on order and want to check mine again this week sometime to see how my dose is doing. 4 days may have been to soon , but I still expect good results.

If you get this you will have fun with it. I am a little boy with gadgets like this. I like to play.
I took it in with me to the docs office and he was acting just like a little doctor boy. He wanted one really really bad for his office. Asked me where I got it and how much. You should have seen him. :D

Its great if you adjust your dosage or want to try something different to see how it affects your numbers. My wife will be going in the end of June for blood work. BEFORE she goes that morning I will run tests and then compare with labs. I will report it here at that time.

Hey, if this comes within 10 points or so I think it is fantastic, personally.
