I have the thinnest lips of anybody I know. My PS said that he would not reccomend an implant because there have been instances of them breaking through the skin. He also wouldn't do fat transfer or collogen because of the expense and short term results. Anybody have any new info for me? or experience to share?

Hi,
I had a great ps in South Africa before I moved to Beverley Hills who did a PERMANENT lip augmentation for me - he removed a layer of skin (where I had an appendix scar) and the layer of fat beneath it and put it into my upper lip. Two years later it is still there, looks totally natural, and feels soft, not hard or lumpy. I would think this is the best way to have it done. I am sure some US doctors do it. too.

Thank you very much. Could you tell me the doctors name? I'm sure I can find a surgeon in the US who would consult with him if I can't find one familior with the procedure.

Unless your lips are super, super thin, I wouldn't get them thickened. That procedure often diminishes one's natural lip curl, which is the TRUE beauty in a person's lips. I've seen such ugly lip augmentations, i've wanted to gag.
Just wear lipstick.

Hi. I had a lip lift last year... my upper lip was thin and the amount of skin between my lip and nose was not in proportion to the rest of my face. I love it.. and I would do it again in a heart beat. It involved bringing some of the inside lip, outside, and stitching a new, higher cupids bow. Recovery was easy. You might find this to be your answer. Good luck.

I am thinking about this, I have had GoreTex for almost 3 years but Iam thinking of either Isolagen over it (when it gets approved) or AlloDerm over it. But the lift would definitely help my nose to lip area, it is getting longer as I age and I had a long one to begin with *sigh*. How are your scars and what doc did you go to?
thank you http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Marianne...
The PS used super small stitches, so I have no scarring from where he 'made' my new lip line. I used Dr. Marc Salzmann in Louisville Kentucky. I'm very pleased with the results. I'm glad he suggested it and even gladder that I had it done. I've really notice what a difference attractive lips make on a face .. Good luck.. its a worthwhile procedure - in my opinion (:

Thank you PS junkie - you must be my lucky star.
I failed to mentaion that I lost a small part of my lip to cancer many years ago, but they were small to begin with. The procedure you say Dr. Salzman performed wasn't even mentioned by my PS (Larry Florman). I hate to be "disloyal" but Dr. Salzman is only about 3 miles from my house so I guarantee I'll call for a consultation. Sounds like a winning procedure.

Hello, I'm interested in getting a liplift. Does anyone know of any before after photos...links? How big can one actually get their lips? Is it possible to get model-sized lips as seen in all fashion magazines? This seems to be a better option...permanent, as opposed to all the temp and questionable alternatives out there. Does anyone know a surgeon in CA? And, how much does this proceedure cost???
Thanks!
