The past few days whenever I've gone to the bathroom, there's been a lot of blood. THe first ttime it really scared me because it was just so much blood (more than when I have my period) I called the dr on call and he said that they're probably internal hemroids and not to worry. I haven't gone to the dr, but I'm wondering if I should.. what can be done?

blood in the toilet, stool, or toilet paper? Do not let a doctor diagnose you over the phone. You could possibly get a colonoscopy to see what's going on inside.

it was in/on eveything. The stool was streaked with blood, the toilet bowl was full of blood and there was a lot of blood on the toilet paper.

That sounds really scary. You really shouldn't listen to what he said over the phone. He can't really give a proper diagnosis over the phone. Get that checked out ASAP

Yeah... I think I'll call my dr if it persists. I went to the bathroom today and there was no blood... so who knows?

You need to see a doctor for a rectal exam. Preferably a general surgeon since a family doctor is limited on what he can not only see but determine. Rectal bleeding is never a normal sign and for this doctor to tell you not to worry is very wrong - expecially over the phone. Hopefully, your bleeding IS due to internal hemorrhoids but you still need a good exam and soon.

Yes, it is possible to have internal hemorrhoids at 23. No, they aren't due to your having worn thongs. You need to get this matter checked out.
