Hi to anyone who reads this thread
I have recently been diagnosed with labyrinthitis, but I was interested if anyone had similar symptoms to mine.
My symptoms started at the begining of March. Moderate hearing loss in my left ear, tinnitus and recruitment. I don't suffer from vertigo, although sometimes dis-equilibrium, but the most distressing or fatiguing symptom is the sensitivity of my ear to most everyday sounds which makes a sound like a drum (bong). In addition, if I stiffle wind which increases pressure in the head I get a buzzing noise which is unpleasant. After about 5 weeks I noticed some of my hearing return which coincided with the buzzing & drum sounds subsiding. After about a week, the symptoms returned and I noticed that the hearing improment I had gained had once again relapsed. This has occurred four times one week on one week off and it is difficult to believe that this will ever go away. When they do receed, it is a gradual process over a few days the same as when it returns. The buzz turns into a sharp echo, and bong becomes quiter.
I would be grateful to anyone who can sympathise to post a thread as I haven't seen any similar symptoms on these boards.
Kindest regards to anyone who replies...
