Hi last summer I found out that I was pregnant and very early on started experiecing some pain and discomfort. the doctors told me that I was having a miscarriage thats why I was bleeding. So I went to the hospital soon after that and was edmitted right away after my ultrasound because my 6 week old baby was growing in my tube the pain was excrutiating. I had surgery and had one of my falloian tubes removed which is pretty devastating for a 22 year old with no children at all yet. My question is has anyone else had this happen and was succesfull in another pregnancy with the other remaining tube or is it the end for me as far as pregnancy goes?

I am just so depressed because I don't think I could ever have children again. even though there is a slite chance I just need to no if there is anyone who has had any hope in this department at all just so that I can have a little peace of mind.

Lots of women have successful pregnancies after a ectopic. My mom had one in the 70's after having an IUD in for a few months. She didn't even know she was pregnant, her tube burst and she was bleeding internally and almost died. I have 2 brothers younger than me...one born about 4 years after the tubal and another one 3 years later. I also have a friend who had one very near the top of her tube close to her ovaries that apparently was to have affected both the tube and the ovary and she has an 22 month old daughter and is due any day with her second.
So rest assured that it is possible to concieve again, keep your hopes up and stress levels down.
How long have you been trying to concieve?

I hope it all works out for you. What has your Dr. said about it?
My mom said they told her that with the scar tissue she might have troubles...obviously not. Actually though she did tell me a few weeks ago, after my miscarriage that she was pretty sure she had one like I did (very late period or so she thought but just a gush when it came) too so this could also happen.
Maybe you should request an ultrasound to see your tubes/ovaries etc. just to see how things look.
Good luck, baby dust to you!!!

Hi I didnt have an ectopic atleast I dont think so I just got back from the hospital I was having lower pelvic pain like bad period cramps but no bleeding Im only 3 weeks pregnant they told me that my hcg levels are low and I might be miscarrying I have to go back and have blood work in two days again.. When you were pregnant in your tubes what kind of pain did you have if you dont mind me asking..

it began as a stomach ache i thought that i had to go to the bathroom and within 20 minutes i had passed out, the pain was unbarrable i dont know how many times i passed out. i got lucky i am a nursing student and i was at the hospital when it happened they told me that had i not been i wouldnt have made it because i lost so much blood. But good news to you it is possible to still have children i am now 7 weeks pg and saw and heard the heart beat yesterday. so keep; your head up! your not alone

PS if you are having an ectopic you wouldnt question the pain you would know

also if you are only 3 weeks i would say that its to soon for the DR to know anything miscarriage or ectopic. im surprised that at 3 weeks you got a BFP. I wish you the best and pray you only have good experiences

i know that the thought of trying again is very scary, and you have to decide what is best for you and your significant other, we tried right away and got pregnant about 4 months later and had a miscarriage, and actually got pregnant one month after that and now im looking at my 6 week old son, i just hope that you didnt decide againt trying again just because you are scared because you can over come it if you decide its the road that you want to go down! just a bit if support to know if you change your mind that there are babies after an ectopic, it isnt a smooth road but the bumps are worth it

I had an etopic pregnacy which destroyed my right falopian tube but went on to have a healthy baby 2 years later at age 40. My friend also had one and she has got 2 little girls now.
Good luck

it is possible to get pregnant again, it just might take a little more owrk, if u r really trying and it doesnt happen for a yr, u can see a fertility clinic who will try and help u, the technology today gives so many women the chance at being parents who back in the day, just adopted or gave up the chance of havign kids..

I had an ectopic pregnancy in November 2004 at six weeks in which my left tube had to be removed. Wasn't till Sept 2005 I was ready to try again and didn't real think I had much chance of conceiving due to what I had been told and read. Well I fell pregnant within 2 months. So it can still happen. Unfortunately I m/c at 13.5 weeks and no reason given for this. Fortunately for me I have already three wonderful children, so consider myself blessed. :)

I hope that you can. I had the same thing happen to me. I am 24...I was about 7 weeks pregnant and it was in my tube, the tube ruptured and I was in horrible pain. I am having a lot of side pain in the other side and I am way worried.
