Hi, it is my birthday on the 18th June and we intend a days outing to a theme park. I take BP meds and average readings around 138/79 at the moment and have for sometime. I didn't think anything of this day out until the other day when my wife got concerned i would have a heartattack or something. I will only be 32yr so i don't really see it a problem myself, but does anyone else have any advice for me.

Paul,
I think your BP control is okay, especially the diastolic in a young guy. Be vigilant though because with age the systolic does its creep and anyone over 40 usually has to pay most attention to the higher number.
As the years go by, I'd expect some doseage adjustment to keep the systolic under 140. I'm not fond of squeezing it much lower no matter WHAT new guidlines they decide to promulgate.
Is weight reduction in your cards? If you need it NOTHING works better for long term BP control.

We have an annual pass to our theme park in our city. I am on Avapro. I asked my dr. about rides etc. she said no problem. I average 120/80. I have yet to get on any major rides though. I have a 5 yr old so we do the slow stuff. It is pretty silly for your wife to worry like that. go and have a good time and dont worry! talk to your dr if you have any doubts
