Hi. I thought everyone could post their positive experiences with all types of cosmetic surgeries under this heading. Names of surgeons could be given also. Only positive experiences should go under this post. Negative experiences should go under the heading 'Negative Experiences with Cosmetic Surgery' on a totally different post. So anybody, countering with negative experience please post under 'Negative....' heading.
I will start with my positive experiences: I've had a face list with excellent results four years ago, and a rhinoplasty many years ago, also with excellent results. A girlfriend of mine went to the same surgeon here in South Florida for a facelift six months after I had mine done and she looks really wonderful. I feel it sure was worth it to me. My doc also does alot of reconstructive surgery for breast cancer patients, and also cleft palate for children, etc. so he is quite versatile and experienced. Just wanted post and would like to see others who are happy with all kinds of cosmetic procedures posting here. Thank you all so much.

I've had a number of cosmetic surgeries, and am very happy with my results! I had a ba 25 years ago, and a redo last year. Four years ago I had a small amount of lipo on my hips and thighs, and had my face lasered. Last year I started having fat grafting done to my entire face with Dr. Berman in Santa Monica, and my results from that - even though I'm not finished yet - are amazing!

Congratulations! You must look wonderful. Thanks for your post. Did they put fat in your cheeks?

Heidi,
What is fat grafting to your face? Is it used is nasalabia creases or where exactly? Is it lasting? I haven't heard of this procedure. Thanks!

Hi Ginli,
My PS was DR. Eugene Strasser, Coral Springs, Florida. I'm sure you'll find a great PS too in Boston. Good luck.

I had a BA almost exactly a year ago, and what an improvement. I'm very happy with it, and I'm in proportion so it looks very natural. I recently had Botox injections to correct crow's feet and am very pleased with those results as well. Now, if I could only get rid of my "winter butt" I would be happy!!

Hi Joy,
I had rhinoplasty, cheek implants and lipo on
my neck done 10 years ago. I ended up with a
bump on my nose, and one of the cheek implants fell out 2 months after surgery. I moved 1 month after my surgery so I have not had it replaced. The lipo was perfect http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif. This may sound negative so far, but it is anything but negative. I didn't expect perfection, I knew the risks involved and it could have gone either way. I feel good about me, flaws and all! And I think that's more important. I will have the cheek replaced eventually along with a few other things that I want modified, but I think that I will keep the little bump on my nose as a reminder that it "ain't all rosey", but it also ain't that bad either. Keep smiling.
John
My to do list -
hair transplant (I shave my head completely to hide the recession)
upper lip augmentation (so I can shave my mustache)
mini face lift (no wrinkles, thanks to 15 years of retin-a for acne, just starting to sag)
lipo to my midsection (are love handles genetic?)
buttocks implants (the butt went with the fat)
calf implants (I hate to exercise them)
cheek implant (only one) http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Thank God for Santa Clause!!

John,
You are too much! You don't even get upset when a cheek implant falls out; and you wnt butt pads or whatever; you are a riot. You have a great attitude.

Thanks Joy!
I didn't say that I didn't get upset.. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I did for about 2 days, but the reality of the situation was that I was a few thousand miles away from my surgeon and I had one of two choices (1)deal with it and move on or (2)Let it grind away at me and interfere with my every waking moment. I chose option one!! Took about 2 days but I got over it. My attitude..lol..something I read a few years ago..we can waste all of our energy and time in being angry and upset over just about anything...why? It happened...here's the solution or there is no solution...fix it or don't and move on...don't waste your time and energy on being angry or upset..make any sense?
It's elective surgery - research research research, know ALL possible outcomes - hence no real big surprises - like when your cheek implant falls out because the incision didn't heal proplerly http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
And I'm still glad that I did it!
Oh..the butt pads - before I do it I will know everything there is to know about them, the procedure and what may go wrong, how they'll feel...well you get the picture.
I'm glad that I found this forum, some very interesting info here.
Have a great day!
John

I am looking for a good doctor to perform both botox and/or collagen injections in the Los Angeles area that is not too frighteningly expensive. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Hi Joy!
I had a breast augmentation with a lift, and also had some lipo on my hips abs, and tummy area. All is very well, and I am very happy with my results. I, like you, and also in South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale), and I used Dr. Jonathan Weiser in Hollywood. He is outstanding! One of our very best body contouring surgeons around. I am so glad that you started this "positive" post, as I tried to post about my positive outcome when this board first got started and got really slammed. I am so happy to tell my story to anyone who is considering any of these surgeries. You can write to me at SoFloridaMommy@aol.com.
Best wishes to all!

I just emailed SoFlamommy and Gramos. It is so nice to hear that there are quite a few excellent doctors out there. So much attention is paid to the terrible results of the few horrible plastic surgeons, that we lose sight of how talented some of our top notch cosmetic surgeons are, and how good it is to look as attractive as you can. Nothing wrong with that! I wish everybody the best possible experience with their surgery outcome. The best way to find a great board certified plastic surgeon is to ask the nurses [independent]who they feel is the best, and also to see someone who has had surgery from a particular doctor. Good luck everyone.

I had an Otoplasty several years ago that I'm happy with, and the chin is going well so far (2 months) though I don't have all my facial expressions back yet so hard to say. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Otoplasty was done by Dr. Daniel Downey and Chin Aug was done by Dr. Keith Paige, both in Seattle, WA.

Heidi, I am surprised to see you pop up at this board. Folks at Digital Beauty are wondering how you are doing. Your pictures and information on fat grafting have been very inspirational to many and you are referred to on occasion at DB. I too have had fantastic results from fat grafting although I used Dr. Donofrio. Please stop by and say hello to the gals at DB and reassure the newcomers that f/g does last.
