Hi, My dad has been diagnosed with Kidney faliure with 20% Function. he is 81 years old, Suspected Prostate cancer and AAA of 5cms. They say they dont want to put him on Dyalasis because of his heart problems and that he only has 1 to 2 years left with his kidneys, what i would like to know is what soft of diet he should be on and what quantaty of liquids he should drink, are these symptoms of kidney failiure, Twitchy muscles, Tiredness, sleeps alot.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I went thru the prostate cancer issue with my dad.
Usually the Dr. treating him would advise him what kind of diet he needs to be on for his particular situation, or at least refer him to a dietician for advice. Ask his Dr. what he says.

Get the book from Walser Mackanzie "Coping with Kidney Disease: A 12-Step Treatment Program to Help You Avoid Dialysis". This book could help him live additional 4-5 years or more. Even if it does not prolong his life because of too many other problems, it's very likely that his remaining life will be much less painful (and he will feel much better, more energized). Basically the book goes through the low protein diet and treatment of all the symptoms: blood pressure, potasium etc. The book is based on more than 20 years of research and includes many personal tales of people avoiding dialysis (some even forever).
