My dad is an alcoholic. He drink cases of beer from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to sleep. His girlfriend of like 7 years was raped along time ago by an hiv positive person. She told me that she doesn't have it. Others have told me she does. She sleeps almost all of the time and is really skinny. My dad has unexplainable seizures every few months. he had one two days ago and when he wakes up from them he doesn't know who anyone is or where he is. He has blodd pour out of his eyes and nose maybe his mouth and ears (not sure). he says the docters have no clue why but he never said if was tested or not. could that be from hiv? what do you think is wrong with him? please reply.

Well, this would be hard to diagnose given that his only symptoms seem to be his seizure activity and his alcoholism. It is possible, of course, that he is aware of his diagnosis but, for whatever reason (if he is HIV +) that he doesn't want you to know because of the stigma associated with this disease.

It is possible that the seizures are related to an altered state of his blood sugar due to his alcoholism. Or the seizures could be related to something else, possible just neurologic changes.

However, the "blood pouring out his eyes and nose, possibly his mouth and ears" is pretty confounding and serious. I doubt that he's been to the doctor because there certainly would be a diagnosis. How compliant would he be if he had to follow a strict regimen of meds, follow-up doctor's appointments, etc?

It really sounds as though you have your hands full. Keep us posted about his condition. Chris

I agree with Chris and also it could be liver function and problems due to a weakind pancreas .
As far as the pancreas goes many diabetics can develope seizurs do to sugar shock and also become confused which may also be a sign that you're father may have problems do to his alcaholism and pancreotic scaring as far as the blood and other things he realy does need to see a doctor and get a full workup of tests .
Please keep us posted ........
