Hello,

I'm a 32 yr old male. I received and gave unprotected oral in January and received unprotected oral at the end of Feb/early March and protected oral mid April and my last sexual experience was on April 25th where I only received protected oral. During all these encounters, kissing and vaginal insertion with my fingers occurred.

I was tested on May 25th and was non-reactive for HIV with the ELISA Method, negative for all 3 types of the HEP B test (Surf Ag, Surf Ab, Core Ab) and negative for Hep C.
Positive for Hep A due to a vaccine yrs ago. HSV-1 positive and HSV-2 negative.

If I did get exposed to HIV and infected would they have shown up in the results? Ho likely would this have happened? Was this enough time between exposure and the testing date for an accurate test? Do I need to retest?

I am very concerned, all incidents were with very sexually active women.
They looked healthy and I was foolish and now in a serious relationship and want to make sure. Thank you all.

Three months after exposure your test results will be as accurate as they can be. The only exception to this rule is if you are an IV drug user or have a damaged immune system, then you are advised to wait for six months after your exposure.

The activities you have described are extremely low risk anyway. This combined with your neative test results after 4 months means you are absolutley fine.

Hello,

Thanks! I am very healthy, never a IV user.
My last unprotected (receiving oral) was 10-12 weeks before I got tested, maybe shy of the 3 months mark. Most likely I'm fine. But just stressing over this. Going through this, has changed my life for the better.

I know this was under the HIV forum, but do you think the Hep B is OK?

Surprisingly, living in NYC, there's still not enough HIV/ STDs education.

Thanks all.

Your encoutner was what is considered low risk by the CDC, and you tested close enough to the three month mark, so I think you're fine. I'm not sure much about the Hep B, but im sure someone else does.
Amd yes, this situation will change your life, but usually it's for the better. Just try not to engage in risky behavior, and you won;t have to worry again
Best of Luck
