Where is she located? Has the school system turned her down? Assume she is on SSI or something, in other words, no insurance? Need more info....

her insurance will not pay for any therapy, she does have both children in school. the oldest is 11 yrs. and in 4th grade and has a part-time aid who really knows nothing about autism, when he has an issue she just sends him to the principles office and makes him sit there for the rest of the day. we have contacted all of the government agencies we can think of. I just don't know where else to try. she is in the state of Indiana, which doen't offer much support. she did get some therapy when they were 3 and 4 but nothing since due to lack of funds.

If the child has an aid then I assume he/she has an IEP? You can request an comprehensive evaluation and/or OT/PT evaluation at any time, call and IEP meeting. If the child receives special education services they can receive support services such as OT/PT. It sounds like the child has some sensory modulation problems that causes him/her to get in trouble. I would recommend a evaluation by an occupational therapist with more than just familiarity with sensory integration - sensory certified would be the best. If the school OT does the evaluation and you are not satisfied that the evaluation was comprehensive enough ie. only looking at fine motor skills and not at sensory processing - you can request a second evaluation by someone of your choice and the school has to pay for it. - At least that is how it works in MO.
