View Full Version : Weird Growth Thing!

I have this, actually I don't even know what to call it, in the area between my breasts. It's been there for a few months, I guess I just figured it would go away, but it hasn't.

It's more flesh colored but also a bit pinkish and it's a tiny circular bump or something. Size-wise, the only thing I can think of to compare it to is one of those little 'Nerds' candies. It's kind of hard to touch which makes me want to pick at it. I've picked at it before and took off the top layer of skin then it just left scab and eventually healed and went back to being a fleshy/pinkish bump with a hard texture. It doesn't hurt, but I have no idea what it is and it's driving me nuts. I want to try over the counter stuff to remove it before my Derm appointment July 1st but I really can't because I would need to know what it is first. I don't think it's a wart as it doesn't have those 'root-like' things as warts sometimes do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks........

I could definately be wrong, but it sounds exactly like what I had. It was on the side of my nose - a little zit like pink bump, that i would pick at, which would make it bleed and then scab over and then start that whole process over again - it went on for a year before I switched derma's who finally diagnosed basal cell carcinoma (BCC). 2 weeks ago I had the MOHS surgery to remove it, and am now cancer free. My best advice is to not touch it and wait for the appt. if it is BCC a few more weeks won't make any diff. it is very slow growing and dosen't get into the bloodstream, so you are fine. But make sure you keep that appt and MAKE SURE to ask for a biopsy (if you have a good derma, they will automatically do that - it would have saved me a year of grief). Take care and wear that sunscreen!!

Hmm, I have never heard of BCC occuring in areas that have not been sun exposed, but I'm not a doctor.

Do you wear low cut tops where this area between the breasts would be exposed to the sun?

When I read this, the first thought that occured to me was a skin tag of some sort. I have something similar to what you describe, cept it's more along the bra line, below the boob. It is flesh colored. It's been there for a while now and has stayed the same, maybe even gotten a little smaller. I guess it's also the size of a nerds candy, but one of the SMALL nerds candies lol.

How big is it in the size of millimeters? And how elevated is it?

Getting it checked out is great, though I wouldn't mess around with it 'til your derm appointment! Come back and let us know what the doc says, k? Take care.

Thanks so much for all the replies!

Well, you know until it was brought up about the area being exposed to the sun, I almost forgot. A year ago, when I was in college like every year we go to FL for spring break for spring training for softball. Since we usually went end of February early March most all of the girls hit the tanning beds a few times before because we of course are all white from not seeing any sun all winter. I didn't go tanning often, just a few times but one time I went I got a really bad sunburn in the area between my breasts. I got the burn all over but it was most severe right between my breasts. I remember it peeling and it got all red and scabby, then it left this white splotch of disicoloration (like a birthmark) until it finally healed.

This growth thing didn't appear right away after this, I started noticing it I guess about a few months ago.

Measurement of it? Not quite sure- like I said, closest thing I can think of to comare it is like nerd-sized. I mean, it actually looks like a pimple. I don't get pimples on my chest, but if the thing was on my face and you'd ask somebody what they thought it was, they would probably say a pimple.
