pittbulllover 06-09-2005, 04:38 PM I have been reading all of the "glowing" reviews of this product, but can't find it anywhere! I live in the Chicago area, any one have any ideas??? Sponsor debyduper 06-09-2005, 05:57 PM I live in Tennessee and stores here have it back ordered for months...I just wonder if it's worth all the hype. Anybody know? pittbulllover 06-09-2005, 06:08 PM I broke down and ordered it from e-bay. No one has it here. I'll let you know. If you do a search of this board there is a huge post about how great it is. Cassie4u22 06-09-2005, 06:45 PM Uh I bought some yesterday and so far, I am not impressed. I know the color is supposed to be "gradual" but today I look slightly orange. Plus, after several hours it left a pretty bad odor on my skin. I am just going to stick to Neutrogena Micro Mist self tanner spray. It works GREAT (the color is a deep bronze) and I love how you don't have to worry about washing your palms afterward, and you can get the tops of your hands and fingers no problem. No streaks ever. 100 times better than this Jergens stuff. I can't believe so many people are soooo impressed with it!! Much better products out there, trust me! Bell99 06-10-2005, 09:22 AM I just got 4 bottles at walmart yesterday! Walgreens can't even get it where I live. I started to use this about two months ago and love it :bouncing: What I had to do was put my name on a list at walmart and they called me when they got it in. I got the Olay one and didn't like it near as much. They put a limit 4 bottles per customer. Hopefully they will catch on and start producing more. I imagine they had no idea how popular it would be. TheKimster 06-10-2005, 12:38 PM I agree with Cassie! I don't know what the big hype is about. About two weeks ago I bought a bottle of the Jergen's Healthy Glow and it took forever to develop color. Boy do they mean "gradual". Right now I am using Loreal Sublime in Med/Deep and this stuff kicks butt! The cream is tinted so you know where you are applying it. I put the Sublime on last night all over my body I woke up with an awesome tan. It looks like I came back from a Carribean island. And it's not orangey looking. You guys might want to give that a try - well worth the money - about $9. blitzkrieg79 06-10-2005, 02:08 PM I'm incredibly pale so I didn't really see enough of a difference in color after using this stuff. The smell is pretty awful too. I'm just going to stick with basic self-tanner from now on. Bell99 06-10-2005, 02:15 PM I am very tan! It took about a good week to start seeing it. I have never noticed the smell, hope if it does nobody else has either  I am very pleased with it not only as a tanner but a lotion as well. Dog lover 06-10-2005, 07:32 PM I tried it too,and was on my way out two days later and realized my ancles and feet looked very rusty.I bought it to give me a "glow"not as a self tanner, but it worked like a bad self tanner.I guess if you dont have a problem with dry skin it probably works better. fashionfaves 06-11-2005, 12:33 AM I didn't have any trouble getting my tube and I got it at Wal-Mart. I like it but I have noticed that I can't use it more than once every few days or I do get a bit of an orange cast to my skin. This is more true on my legs than anywhere else. I don't even TRY to put it on my the tops of my feet or anywhere near my ankle bone. Those areas REALLY get orange!! I do understand why the smell is an issue for people too. ff  debyduper 06-11-2005, 01:23 AM It seems like Walgreens does have issues with getting it because where I live it is backordered for months there. Now, I have tried ,literally, every self tanner and Loreal and Neutrogena are good, but believe it or not Banana Boat has one now that is actually very good, cheaper, without that weird smell you were talking about...Also, the lotions work better than the mist and gel because it gives you more color because the consistency of it. (I have every brand and type, tring to save my skin's youth lately) I have noticed as well that if you have especially fair skin that you will probably go a little orange at first-you are basically painting your skin so the lighter the skin the lighter that makes the color on top of it, I figure it takes more coats for fair skin..unfortunately, I guess none will ever be perfect, they all have some bad points like wearing off, especially with swimming, sun, and sweat...oh well...Take the good with the bad-Great for a quick tan!.....Banana boat! |
