I have been highlighting my hair for the past two years. I felt it had been getting too blonde, so about two weeks ago my hair stylist touched up my roots and then she applied a toner. My hair now looks all brown with no highlights at all! Does anyone know if a hair toner washes out or do I have to get my highlights redone? Thanks!!

Whenever my hairdresser highlights my hair she puts a toner on also and within like 2 weeks the toner is washed out.

I have had this happen to me too. Your hair will lighten up some over time. You can use a harsh shampoo like Prell to help fade the color. ALso, deep conditioning and hot oil treatments are suppose to help fade the color.
Good luck!

Thank you guys for your replies! I was reading some stuff on the internet about this problem and one website stated to use a clarifying shampoo, as this will speed up the fading process. At least I knows there's hope in sight!
