Throughout my life, I've developed fixations on women. This is not a sexual thing (I'm a straight woman) its just that I admire and compare myself to them. I want to find information out about them so that I can compare any and all aspects of their life to mine. Its happened to me with 3 or 4 people, and I want it to stop. I want to be able to focus all my attention on myself instead of worrying what a particular person has, does, looks like, etc.
Just to make this clear- its not like I'm buying the same cars or moving into the same neighborhood. I don't want to hurt them or do anything wrong. Its more of a mental thing than an action thing- whatever university they went to I feel is better than the one I went to. Whatever they're wearing I feel is better than mine. The feelings of self-doubt are endless, and I focus on it a lot.
I know this is a self-esteem issue. If anyone has is going through this or has been through this and has tips, I would really appreciate your help.

I've kind of gone through this to some extent, though not just with women. Yeah, it's definitely a self-esteem thing and, for me at least, these are some of the hardest things to get past. I think what helps is finding and surrounding yourself with friends who care about you just because you're you. =D
