I had liposuction on my abdomin 4 months ago. My tummy is now hard and flat, which is nice. However,it looks like a prune! Lots of lines, lumps and bumps. My husband says it looks like an old lady's stomach. My doc says, massage it 10 minutes 3x daily and wear the girdle for a year! Despite massages and girdle, it's still awful looking. Does this ever go away???

I am sorry to say that at four months, it is doubtful that you will see substantial changes -- minor yes, major no. The sad fact of liposuction is that depending upon the amount removed and beginning elasticity of your skin, loose skin is a possibility. I have some loose skin on my upper abs after lipo, however, my plastic surgeon was honest with me going in, telling me that was a possibility. However, on lower abs, thighs, and buttock all my skin tightened -- and I did not have to wait three months. All in all, I am still very happy with my results two years later.
