View Full Version : curious white stuff on lips

Hi,

I am curious to find out what is the substance forming on where my upper and lower lips meet. It's like stringy white sorta dried saliva between the lips. It forms a line along just where the upper and lower lips meet. Usually whitish, even when I wear lipstick. This forms minutes aftre applying lipstick...or even when I'm not wearing lipstick and I'm talking during the day at work. I'd constantly have to check a mirrow and wipe it off. Call it 'ring around the inner lining of the lips' if you like. But to me, it's unsightly and I'd like to resolve it.

Anyone else got this problem? Anyone knows what it is and why it's caused and how to solve it?

Thanks :)

Chatty,

I guess sometimes my mouth would get dry. But it's odd, because on one of my visits, my dentist said that my mouth produced more saliva than normal. The phenomenon usually happens when in public, with or without lipstick/lip gloss/lip balm or chewing gum, but hardly ever when I'm at home.

Do you also have to constantly be checking in a mirror and wiping it off as well? Tell me more about your symptoms please?
