I've always ground my teeth (bruxism) and wear a bite splint at night. It's caused gum tenderness before and plenty of cracked teeth (which were fixed) but all of a sudden I have a terrible toothache, top and bottom teeth, right in the area where the clenching is worst.
Could this be due to extra stress?? Will it go away by itself?? I've been gargling with salt water to avoid infection. It hurts mostly when I put pressure on the area, or eat cold or hot foods.

That much pain should be checked by the dentist. I grind my teeth too. I thought of buying a mouthguard of some kind but lately I have been really good about not clenching. For me it just comes and goes. It could be stress and could be something in your diet. :) I've always ground my teeth (bruxism) and wear a bite splint at night.
