Hi,
I have just decided that my many symptoms over the last year could well be a result of menopause. Although I have been in full menopause for a good five to seven years with no big time symptoms. Three years ago I started having one leg operation a year for arthritis. I think the trauma of the operations, the narcotics I've been taking have thrown my hormones in to imbalance. I was thinking it was my thyroid, which has been inbalanced for a while....but after reading the symptoms on this board which totally mirror mine, I'm going on the assumption that it's menopause related.
Has anyone had success with reducing their symptoms...with low dose HRT, progesterone cream, etc? I have tried the nutritional suppements over the years and they haven't helped. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Barbara

Hi, I have tried all the herbal supplements too, but they just aren't enough, are they? I think what helped mine, was getting on Lexapro for the anxiety and depression. As soon as I started on it, my hot flashes and night sweats went away. It could be coincidence - but I sure hope not!

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to stay away from the anxiety/depression meds for as long as I can. I take a lot of other things..thyroid, blood pressure, and would like to keep it at that. I was going to ask for natural progesterone for a month's trial and see if that helps. I might have to go for the heavy meds after that if it doesn't work. I don't think I can stand it much longer! Thank you for the input. I will remember lexapro.
