Hi all

Since long time I have several petechiaes in the skin of my lower feet.I know this is normal and not a sign of serious illness. However, I could not find from internet why I have petechiaes, and every websites always showed frightening causes such as leukemia or blood disorder.

Of course I had met hematologist and do CBC,liver function test and blood smear test several times. No problem for my platelets and I am healthy. I asked him about petechiae and he said that is normal to have several petechiae and many people has, he said I should worry if the petechiaes become purpura (bruising) or spread to larger area.

Basically I have sensitive skin and if I don't keep my skin humid I will get dermatitis. I am just 28 years old, so that I can rule out aging skin as the cause of my petechiae. I am also not under any medicine. I know ladies get petechiae when they have menstruation but I am a male.

Anybody has experience with this petechiae? I really think this could come from my dry skin or allergy but I could not find reference about the relation from internet. I know this is not emergency and I should not worry since my blood does not show any abnormalities. However, I will really appreciate any opinion and advice.

Thank you very much

sincerely

hi...I seem to have the same problem, petechiae on my feet...been there for nearly 2 months....have gotten lighter and less intense, although they get lighter than a bit darker then lighter again....but still look better than they originally did....there are hudreds of them in the area of my arches....I was wondering if you got a diagnosis or if your went away....i find that if I rub my feet, the petechiae get lighter...weird.....but it doesn't stay that way! they come back within hours....and if I stand for longer periods of time, they get darker and seemingly more show up....
