I had extensive dental work done recently. My last appointment was April 22nd.

I had a cavitiy in my 1st year molar on top/left hand side. This is the 4th tooth from the front, counting the front tooth as 1. In any event, I had a filling and some bonding done on the outside of the tooth. The past 2 weeks or so I have been experiencing pain in the left side of my face (all over). It would flare up and go down. Now, I seem to have it generalized to one tooth. Needless to say, I can't bite down on that particular tooth. It hurts/feels sore or like a bruised tooth. I am going in the day after tomorrow for an x-ray to see what is going on with this tooth.

Any ideas? Adjustments? Root canal? I am worried.

Could be that the tooth was filled to "high" and you are putting excess pressure on it when you bite down. OR it could have died in that time and now is in need of a root canal.
