Hello,

I am 32 years old male and I am taking 5mg lotensin per day. I want to know if ACE inhibitors affect sperms.

My wife and I want to have a baby next year and I do not know if I need to stop this medicine.

Thank you very much!

Wayne,

I've only heard that calcium channel blockers may cause an infertility issue by interfering with the ability of sperm to penetrate the woman's eggs.

ACEs however, should be no problem as far as I know. You should be okay.

But do double check with your doctor(s).

The only thing I have read is that a pregnant woman should not take an ACE.
