Has anyone had problems with scar tissue following surgery? I have had two surgeries at L4-L5 since Nov. After the first (lami/microdis) I was pain free for a couple of months, then pain in my left leg came back. I had a microdisc. to remove fragments and more disc at L5 and some bone around the nerve openings at both levels. Since the 2nd surgery, I have had no pain relief and it is worse than before. I took a pack of steroids and it did not help. I had another MRI and saw my Dr. last week. There is nothing structurally that is impinging my nerve. My Dr. thinks that what is going on is that my nerve is being stretched over the scar tissue therefore causing the severe pain when I move around. He wants to try to stretch the nerve giving it more room to bend around the scar tissue. I started PT and will try another nerve block to get through the pain. Has anyone else gone through this type of problem and what was your outcome? Thanks for any replies. I need some encouragement.

I will definately keep the anti-scarring gel in mind if I ever have any more surgery. Does anyone know if I have a realistic chance of this nerve stretching and the pain subsiding? Is there anything that can be done at this point to get rid of some scar tissue, so the nerve has more room to move?
