I had a root canal done about 4 months ago. During the procedure the file the dentist was using broke. He was unable to retrieve it so he left in in the canal and the tooth with only a temporary covering. He says he wants to leave it that way for another two months. I have been suffering from un explained and chronic headaches as well as two infections since this took place. He claims there is no relation. Does anyone know the protocol for this kind of situation?

I would go get another opinion, I wouldn't go 4 months like that, he can get it out of my mouth now,lol:)
