Has anyone used Cayenee as a supplement to weight loss?

Someone told me they lost 5 lbs in 10 days using something called cayenne fruit pills or cayenne capsules either purchased for Wally World or GNC. It supposedly speeds up the metabolism. I haven't heard much about this so I am wondering if anyone has used this?

Thanks-

I have been using the Maggie Drozd weight loss pills which incorporate spices to speed up your metabolism, cayenne being one of them. Spices have been proven to speed up your metabolism, but I think it is best to just cook with them, don't rely on capsules. The one's I have been taking actually made me gain 40 lbs after having lost 35 by just drinking more water! I quit taking them 2 days ago. So if you don't mind spicy food just use a lot of cayenne, garlic, onions, & pepper. Really do your homework on what spices to use and how to combine them. And drink a lot of water. At least 64 oz a day, but probably not more than 85, at least that's what I've been told. Don't drink so much water that you feel sick because there is such a thing as too much water and it CAN kill you! I am researching spices right now, I'll let you know if I find anything. mel jen 10 at ju no, I can forward whatever I find.

Some spices, herbs and minerals can speed up your metabolism, and many weight loss pills contain a combination of these. However, I believe a proper diet and regular exercising is more important than taking these products. They are supplements only, i.e. they can supplement your diet and training program.

I have not used these for weight loss, but I do use them in the Winter when I have cold hands, they improve your circulation & make you feel warmer.

whoever told you that is an idiot.
Which is not surprising because a lot of "diet gurus" and their followers are idiots

1 gallon (128oz) is the optimum reccomended intake of water for someone 120-130lbs. Especially if you are eating lots of protein- which many diets reccomend.

btw- if you gained weight it was not from drinking water. Drinking water, especially cold water RAISES your metabolism. (your body expends energy to raise your core temp which drinking cold water lowers (slightly))

it is true that you can drink too much water, though its quite difficult and you will feel very ill prior to it becoming an issue.

cayenne, in particular the constituent capsicum does raise metabolism via vannilloid receptor agonism, though its not all that significant perhaps 1-3%. Evodiamine is another vanilloid receptor agonist. Its quite a bit more expensive, though it can be taken in much higher doses because it will not irritate stomach.
